Word Work

wordbuildingfolder1.jpg

I created student word work folders for each of my students. There is a photo copy of the alphabet on each side of the folder with velcro strips along the bottom of each row of letters. I laminated the folders before adding the velcro. Each folder also has two complete sets of laminated removable letters. The letters contain velcro on the backs. These letters then velcro onto the folder. The children can easily put them back by locating the picture of the letter and then "returning it to its home." Each folder also has two strips of velcro along the bottom of the folder. We call this the building area. Students place the letters we will be working with in the left building area. They use the right building area to build words.
