Apples, Apples, mmmmmm...
Apple Songs and Poems
Apples
(Tune: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star)
Apples juicy, apples round,
on the tree or on the ground.
Apples yellow, apples red,
apple pie and juice and bread!
Apples crunchy, apples sweet,
apples are so good to eat!

Pick an Apple
(To the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star)
Apple, apple, way up high,
I can reach you if I try.
Climb a ladder,
Hold on tight.
Pick you quickly
Take a bite.
The Apple Tree
Way up high in the apple tree,
Five little apples smiled down at me.
I shook the tree as hard as I could.
Down came the apples and mmmmm!
They were good!
Apples
Apples, apples, one, two, three,
Apples for you,
Apples for me.
Apples for big,
Apples small,
Apple trees tiny,
Apple trees tall.
Apples sour,
Apples sweet,
Apples, apples, are nice to eat.
Applesauce
(To the tune of "Yankee Doodle")
Peel an apple,
cut it up,
cook it in a pot.
When you taste it
you will find
it's applesauce you've got.
Apple Books
Literacy Activities
Read How To Make An Apple Pie and See the World. Write each ingredient on a sentence strip and write each country on an index
card. Have children match the items that the girl got with the country in which she found the item.
Have the children sequence cards containing the list of ingredients.
Children can write their own how to books. Encourage creativity.
Math Activities
Apple Graphing: Ask each child to bring an apple to school. Use the apples to create a life size graph and then record the
information on a paper graph.
Once the graph is complete children can use the graph to answer questions such as how many more red apples are there than
green apples? or What's the difference between the number of yellow apples and green apples?
Apple Tasting: allow children to taste a variety of different apples and then vote on their favorite. Record the results
on a graph.
